Blush Lacquers October Polish Pickup: Not Your Average Seahorse

Today I’m sharing Blush Lacquers October polish pickup contribution! If you’re not familiar with how polish pickup works, read the next paragraph. Otherwise, feel free to skip to my description and thoughts.

Polish pickup is a group created through the dislike of boxes. Members vote on a theme each month, and makers are able to select a corresponding photo to customize a polish from. Dozens of makers are featured each month and shoppers can purchase the exact shades they want, without the obligation of buying an entire collab box. Also, shipping is very reasonable. The voting group is through a Facebook group called ‘Polish Pickup Pack’.

Blush’s contribution to October’s monsters and mythical creatures theme is Percy Jackson’s visual of a hippocampus:

The polish created for this beauty is called Not Your Average Seahorse. Official description is a navy base packed full of orange/gold/green shifting microflake shimmer and shifting green, purple, pink, blue flakies all finished with a nice scattered holo.

There’s a ton going on here! In regular indoor, or overcast lighting I see a dusky navy blue, almost leaning dusky purple. The shifting shimmer is really in your face, you can definitely see the orange, green and gold flowing in the background. The array of colored flakies lay on top, contrast against the shimmer. To me, the holo can be seen in direct sunlight, or with a bright light. You’ll constantly see something changing or sparkling no matter what lighting you’re in.

Formula was very nice. I used three thin coats in my swatches with a topcoat. You can get away with two if you don’t have super bright free edges, like me. The flakes laid down easily too, and after topcoat everything is perfectly level.

Very pretty and can we say, hello rainbow?

The sale for Not Your Average Seahorse will begin Oct. 6 (11am EST) – Oct. 9 (11:59pm EST) on the Polish Pickup site:  ->HERE<-. Pricing for this pretty is $11.75.

Thanks so much for reading!
