Hello nail geeks! Today I’m sharing swatches of Glam Polish’s Facebook fan group custom duo, as well as an extra polish that is part of the Pixie Dust collection. I’m stoked for this review as I have been a fan of the brand for several years. In fact, it is in my top 4 most owned brand (I even have a few very old OG bottles). I’ve come to have high expectations of Glam because over the years, the polishes are always full coverage and so blingy and these are no different in terms of formula and appearance!
The duo is inspired by Nightmare Before Christmas, specifically Sally and Jack. Let’s start with Sally.
We’re Simply Meant to Be. Official description: a light blue holo with multichrome flakies, with ultra holo glitter.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. This beauty is SO blingy! The first coat applied very dense in terms of formula and stayed put where I placed it. You’ll see in the swatch video that it covered nicely for just the first coat. The second coat gave me full opacity which is amazing given how loaded this polish is with pigments. I feel like my photos are leaning a touch silver, so please keep in mind in person there is a light blue tinge to the overall look. The glitters give you an intense sparkle in any lighting, and in bright lights- get those sunglasses out, it’s like crushed jewels on your nails. I had no texture after topcoat. You’ll see a rainbow of colors with the larger flakies across your nails against the base.
What’s This? What’s This? Official description: a black jelly with rainbow multichrome flakies and ultra holo glitter.
Swatches show three thin coats with topcoat. I’m beginning to realize that black is my Achilles heel when it comes to swatching. I apologize about the overly bright macros, but I wanted to really show off just how loaded this polish is. I think the video will give you a better idea on all the magic going on here. The first coat acts as a foundation, as it’ll start off very jelly and squishy-like but after the second you’ll get full opacity. Those with very short nails might be able to get full coverage at two coats. No texture after topcoat here either. While the base is blackest black, the flakies standout strongly in a rainbow fashion and sparkles are everywhere! I did manage to get a bit on my cuticles and I can safely report back that it’s not the type of black that sticks around after removal.
The last polish I’m sharing is part of the Pixie Dust collection. There was a bit of a mixup with shipping, but I had to share this one too as it’s so beautiful. This is I Just Can’t Wait to be King.
This is a stunning multichrome that shifts from green, dark green, and purple. In person the green you’ll see is lighter than what I pictured below. The bright lights in my light box photographed this as one of the darker greens in the shift. Swatches show three thin coats with topcoat. My nails have just the tiniest bit of texture from the flakies, so I’d recommend a thick topcoat like a quick dry. The shift is gorgeous and you’ll easily see the green to purple shift on tilt. There’s so much going on here! Besides the intense shift and scatter of rainbows, you’ll also get loads of sparkle from the holo glitters all over.
The Duo and Pixie Dust collections will release August 3rd at 2pm EST on the Glam site. Please note, you must be a member of the Facebook fan group to purchase the Duo (which you should join anyway to see the other amazing blogger’s swatches of the Pixie Dust collection) as there will be a discount code to bring the price of the duo down to normal pricing.
I highly recommend to checkout my swatch video of these pretties, especially to see What’s This? What’s This? in action! (I’m finding over time that I like demonstrating polishes to flow with my words so click on over to really see these bad boys).
Thanks so much for reading! ❤
