Happy Saturday nail geeks! Today I have a post that I think will melt those Halloween and fall loving hearts! Supernatural Lacquer has released a monthly LE, and a magnetic quartet that is so shifty, magical and flakie filled! If you watch my swatch video, I’m treating it a bit like a magnetic tutorial so you can see how I got the cat’s eye to pop and also how much movement the pigments have.
Let’s start with the Halloween 2018 LE!
Living Dead Ghoul – black base with green to purple aurora shimmer, copper,/orange/green colorshift flake, blue/purple/red colorshift flake and red holo micro shred.
Swatches show three coats with glossy topcoat. There is a gorgeous shift on this one, on tilt you’ll see a rich purple come out the play. This is so sparkly and there is so many multicolored flakies! Formula applies like a jelly, so I’d say 2-3 coats max for opacity. No texture after topcoat.
And now for the horsemen!
Death. Official description: a deep purple magnetic which reveals red to green aurora shimmer, orange/pink flake and bright silver micro fleck when magnetized.
Swatches show three coats with the magnet applied on the third coat. The backdrop to Death is a gorgeous red to green shift with the shimmers being so tiny they look like sparkles. The magnetic particles are super strong against the base and have a glowing purple effect. No texture after topcoat.
Famine. Official description: a deep blue magnetic pigment reveals magenta to green aurora shimmer, red/purple/gold colorshift flake and bright silver micro fleck when magnetized
Swatches show three coats with topcoat. The magnet was applied on the third coat. The shimmer in the background gives a lovely contrast again here, with the blue magnetic particles. I highly encourage everyone to check out my swatch video so you can see how these also look without the magnet applied!
Pestilence. Official description: a forest green magnetic pigment reveals purple to green aurora shimmer, purple/green colorshift flake and bright silver micro fleck when magnetized.
Swatches show three coats with the magnet applied on the third coat. This one felt super earth toned to me, and the green magnetic pigments are still holding center stage here. The purple shift on the shimmer really contrasts nicely. There is no texture after topcoat here either.
War. Official description: a rusty red magnetic pigment reveals teal to purple aurora shimmer, blue-green color shift flake and bright silver micro fleck when magnetized
Swatches show three coats with the magnet applied on the third coat. This one reminds me of space. There’s a lot of movement to War (as well as the other three) and the shimmers give a strong teal sparkle in the background. No texture after topcoat here, either.
The Halloween LE and Quartet are live in the shop now! Be sure to join the fan group if you haven’t already to keep up with sneak peaks and additional swatches! As usual, I’ll link my video below so you can see these beauties in action. I also go over tips on how I get my magnetics to retain their shape too. Hopefully that will help those who are on the fence with trying out these incredible types of finish. The horsemen are $11.50 each, or $42 for the set. The LE is $12.75. There will be bar magnets sold in the shop for $1 as well.
Thanks so much for reading! ❤
