Hella Handmade Creations: Heather’s Hues and Quixotic Polish Halloween Trios

Hello lovely Nail Geeks! Today I have two amazing trios from Heather’s Hues and Quixotic Polish to share! Each year Hella Handmade Creations has some super gorgeousness to share for their Hellaween event and both trios are based off of Goosebumps, which I adored as a kid. I remember having nightmare’s from a few of those books LOL! Let’s start with Heather’s Hues!

Can we talk about how ADORABLE the Halloween labels are that Heather has exclusive for this trio?? LOVE IT.

Dead House– a black base with purple and red microglitters, holo and purple microflakes, and holo and purple/blue/red multichrome flakes.

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula has a glossy buttery feel during application and feels almost jelly like. It has fantastic opacity, and I can’t see anyone needing to go to three coats in my opinion. The blue flakes peek out strongly against the dark base and picked up effortlessly on the brush. Both flakes and micro glitters stayed where I put them and no texture after topcoat.

Horror Land– a tri-thermal base shifting from a blue-grey when cold to a dusty pink when warm and lilac in between. Its filled with linear holo, holo flakes, magenta and purple holo microglitters, and multichrome flakes in blue/aqua/violet and violet/pink/gold.

Swatches show three coats with glossy topcoat. Formula has a jelly feel and built up to full opacity for me at three coats. This one has three colors, the in between state is a dusky lilac, the cold state a blue grey, and the warm state is a warmed, almost hot pink to me. The rainbow of flakes in here compliment all three states and I had no texture after topcoat.

They’re Coming for You– a fiery multichrome base that shifts between deep reds, orange, and gold and is sprinkled with gold and copper holo dust, iridescent color-shift flakes in orange/pink/gold, and multichrome flakes in gold/bronze/silver.

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula has a rich feel during application, and I had full opacity at the second coat. This is an intense color to say the least and applied easily. The primary color I saw was a deep red, with bright oranges and golds on tilt. The holo gives a dense scatter and I had no texture after topcoat.

Now for Quixotic’s Trio!

Abominable– a black based crelly lit up by soft red shimmers and accented with lime to gold to pink shifting iridescent flakies and holo sparks.

Swatches show three coats with topcoat. Formula has a buttery jelly feel on application and no texture after topcoating. The shimmer is very strong and appeared mostly as a bright fuschia to me, with a gold shift on extreme angles. The flakes behaved and picked up easily on the brush and stayed flat during application.

Camp Cold Lake– a soft periwinkle base aglow with green magnetic shimmer and light holo sparkles. The magnetic effect may appear a bit more subtle on this polish.

Swatches show two coats with magnet applied on the second coat with topcoat. The formula has a rich jelly feel, and I think this one looks fantastic on it’s own without the magnet applied. Be sure to check out my video to see it without. The magnetic pigments are a little heavier than what I am used to, so don’t be surprised when you see it takes a brief moment to respond to the magnet- it is however WELL worth it. I held an arc magnet over my nails for roughly 40 seconds and the design wasn’t the most in your face that i have worked with; but still very noticeable. There’s lots of shift here, and the pigment had loads of movement. No texture after topcoat.

Piano Lessons– a fiery red base set ablaze with holo micro flake and blue/purple/green UCC chameleon flakies.

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula has a buttery, squishy feel during application and retains that jelly look while still being very opaque. The flakes laid down flat for me. The base is a warmed cherry red to me and the holo gives a very dense sparkle across your nails. No texture after topcoat.
