Hello lovely nail geeks! I’m so excited to finally share these swatches with you! I’ve had a few hickups to getting this post out, but everything is put together and they’re here! Also, Zoya is having a Pixie Dust promotion this month! All details will be listed at the end! Let’s get to the swatches!
ASTRID: a liquid gold foil that adds a festive touch to any holiday look – wear as an accent or alone for optimum impact.
Swatches show two coats with glossy topcoat. Formula has a very dense feeling during application and applies effortlessly on the nails. I don’t really see anyone needing to go beyond two coats. The foil effect is strong and gives you a super sparkly appearance. The color overall is what I would have a true gold, almost antique. There is a touch of dark yellow undertones. No texture after topcoat.
TARYN: a fiery fuchsia micro-iridescent shimmer with blue undertones – a shade that brightens even the gloomiest of winter days.
Swatches show two coats with glossy topcoat. Formula feels lighter than the cremes, but applies very evenly. The base is a rich, bright fuchsia and the shimmers gives a strong blue appearance. This is a very flattering shade, and I think just about anyone could pull it off. Depending on nail length, I’d say 2-3 coats for full opacity.
MAXINE: a rich red cream with an evenly balanced undertone – bright, yet still appropriate for the season.
Swatches show two coats with glossy topcoat. Formula has a medium feel and applies very opaque. This has a super buttery feeling during application and at two coats gives you that awesome plump appearance on your nails. My swatches are coming off super red leaning, but in person it’s just as vibrant but more pink-ey undertoned of a red.
ALLISON: a plum-toned ruby cream – a more amped up version of a traditional plum shade.
Swatches show two coats with glossy topcoat. Formula has a similar feel to Maxine, and applies very rich and opaque. This is a beautiful plum toned almost pink-ey type of cream. My swatches are kind of blowing out the color so keep in mind it’s almost a magenta ruby. It’s gorgeous and very flattering, I actually put it on my toes this week!
COOKIE: a purple PixieDust with gold flecks – perfect for holiday fun! Use as an accent or on her own for a gorgeous textured matte look.
Swatches show two coats with no topcoat. I positively adore PixieDusts and I’m so excited that Zoya has released two new shades in this collection! This is an ultra textured matte shade with loads of gold flecks. I personally like to wear Pixies with two heavy coats of topcoat and it gives a ridiculously sparkly mani!
LEOPARD SPOTS TOPPER: the new special effect topper for winter 2018 – layer over any textured PixieDust shade for an edgy leopard effect.
Swatches show one coat of leopard spots over Cookie, and topped with topcoat to show the PixieDust glossy. When I applied this topper over Cookie in my video, you’re seeing the very first time I’m using it. After playing around, I’d suggest going in with a medium coat and don’t even worry about getting ‘full coverage’. It dries down very quick, and begins working instantly. In my opinion it’s a fun take on the crackle polishes that used to be the rave. These work very well over the PixieDusts and are intended for use over them.
Here I topped Juniper and left it matte. It’s hard to see in this photo, but it gave a really cool effect that reminded me of crushed velvet given the base color of Juniper. I think it looks awesome either glossy or matte.
JUNIPER: a sparkling teal textured PixieDust shade – especially perfect when paired with Leopoard Spots effect polish layered over.
Swatches show two coats with no topcoat. This is the other new PixieDust, and I adore it to pieces! The base is a rich, deep teal that has loads of texture and shifty sparkles. This one felt heavier during application than Cookie, but both had full opacity at two coats.
KATERI: a beautiful midnight brown cream – think of this as the new black!
Swatches show two coats with glossy topcoat. Formula has a very rich feeling during application, and the base reminds me of espresso. For a brown, I thought this was very flattering and rich. The formula is wonderfully self leveling, and forgives of any mistakes after your topcoat.
LEIGH: a perfect winter nude – rich and warm cream with just a hint of pink to compliment any skin tone.
Swatches show two coats with glossy topcoat. Formula has a thicker feel than the other cremes during application, I’ll admit it took me a minute to figure out the best way for application. I found that going in very thin on the first coat, then slightly heavier on the second coat gave me the best appearance. It started off streaky on the first coat, but trust me on the second coat it self-leveled and after topcoating, no streaks were no visible.
CARSON: a muted nude pink cream – beautiful shade to create an understated elegance and perfect for the cold weather months
Swatches show two coats with glossy topcoat. Formula felt almost as thick as Leigh, but just a touch thinner to work with. I went in with the same application style as Leigh, one very thin coat and then a slightly less than normal second coat and I was smooth sailing for topcoat. On both of the nudes in this collection, they are very forgiving on any application issues and nothing could be see after topcoating. Honestly, I think this was a perfect nude for me, it was insanely chic and flattering.
CHIARA: a deep purple cream – a gorgeous compliment to the rich jewel tones of the season.
Swatches show two coats with glossy topcoat. Formula has a rich, easy, buttery feel during application and at two coats you’ll get that perfect plump appearance on your nails. The base color is a cool toned, vibrant creme that was so very flattering. Purple lovers: you need this. I think this would also make for an excellent base color for unicorn pee toppers.
DANICA: a rich deep teal cream – a new twist on holiday green that gives you an edgy, yet elegant look
Swatches show two coats with glossy topcoat. Formula has a super smooth buttery feel during application. I adore this color, it’s perfection for a blue/green/teal lover like myself and I’ve rocked this mani for quite some time after swatching.
The Jubilee Collection is available now on Zoya’s website, as well as in Ulta stores! Right now, Zoya has buy two get two pixie dusts on their site through December so take a peak! I’ll have a post dedicated to Pixie’s very soon so keep an eye out for that!
