Hello hello!! It’s that time of the month again, Polish Pickup is right around the corner and I’m so excited to bring you my second largest PPU post (right after my time as BOTM). The theme this time is weather phenomena and holy moly the makers seriously brought their A-games to the table! Let’s get to the swatches!

Baroness X Travel Lip Kit in Pineapple Express

  • Inspiration: The Pineapple Express is a series of storms originating in the Hawaiian Islands.
  • Price: $8.50
  • Cap: None
  • Glossy Bella Balm is a super creamy and silky balm gloss packed with nourishing and hydrating oils. You can also use it on your cuticles or anywhere you have dry skin. It’s formulated to go on and stay on in a thin protective layer. It’s easily absorbed into your skin due to the cera bellina and the choice of oils. You only need a very tiny amount, a little goes very far! (10 g)
    –  Hydrating Lip Scrub (Pineapple & Tangerine scented) is formulated to use without water and it’s also chock full of oils that will act as a protective layer so you don’t damage your healthy skin while scrubbing away the dead skin cells. To help even more, we used fine sugar so we’re just sloughing away what needs to be removed. Simply wipe with a tissue or napkin when done scrubbing. This formulation also has an added benefit when traveling… when you remove the small amount of scrub you won’t be dropping it everywhere when removing from the container or during use. No sugar falling into your lap! (10 g)
    – Anti-Aging Balm (vegan) in a sample size and scented with Pineapple & Tangerine. We believe lip balm should be hydrating as well as protective, not just sealing the lips in a heavy coat of wax. That’s why our ingredient list is packed with oils and butters that sink into the moisture barrier for ultimate hydration. You can use this in place of the Bella Balm or put it in your pocket to use as often as desired throughout the day. (1.5g)

The kit comes in the holo baggie you see here, Bella Balm is super concentrated and I recommend going in with a few dabs on your lips and you’ll be glossy! The lip scrub has a finer particle grit to it that is wonderful at clearing away your chappies and leaves you feeling moisturized after washing off. It smells amazing too! The anti-aging balm applies very similar to a chapstick through feels less waxy than the drug store types. I have full swatch application on my video so you can see how they apply/work!

Baroness X Acetone Antidote in Pineapple Express

  • Inspiration: The Pineapple Express is a series of storms originating in the Hawaiian Islands.
  • Price: $4.25
  • Cap: None

This months Acetone Antidote is in a lovely ultra fresh pineapple scent that smells amazing and very summery! I like to add the entire vial to roughly 7 ounces of pure acetone and I get a lovely lingering scent with the benefit of no drying effect from the acetone.

Baroness X Drying Drops in Bora Bora: a mix of sweet pineapple, acai berry, mango, tart passion fruit, yuzu, green apple & orchid leaves.

  • Inspiration: The Pineapple Express is a series of storms originating in the Hawaiian Islands.
  • Price: $6.50
  • Cap: None

This is a new product lineup for the brand, drying drops can be used over your topcoat or without topcoat though not intended between each layer so just keep that in mind. I’ve given this a thorough test over various finishes the last week and I can safely say it works. Drying time is super fast and it easily dries down all of your layers. It leaves your cuticles with an oiled look and moisturized like crazy too. The scent is fresh and pleasant. I have a demonstration in the swatch video, I apply literally one drop over each nail and let it just coat the nail and cuticle. Easy peasy!

Baroness X– Fallstreak: a blue jelly based multichrome shifting red/copper/gold/green with blue/purple iridescent flakies and sheer gold flakies. You could also use this over other colors as a topper (try navy/black/red etc.). It’s opaque in 2-3 coats

  • Price: $11.75

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. I’d describe this as a rich jelly. It applies very opaque and the flakes behave easily. I want to note this one is super shifty and my swatches definitely don’t do it justice. What you see here is in bright lighting, in person theres a lovely copper shift at angles in shaded lighting with green popping at extreme angles. No texture after topcoat.

Cameo Colours Lacquers– Stand in Awe or Run: a teal crelly full of copper, gold, blue and purple shimmers, gunmetal and silver holo micro flakes, aqua-green, purple blue, and orange gold crystal chameleon flakes and lime-copper-blue color shifting flakes.

  • Inspiration: A supercell
  • Price: $11.00
  • Cap: 100 bottles

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. This has a very opaque feel during application and applies like a true crelly. Lot’s of flakes to be seen here that all behave. I’d recommend a good glossy topcoat to really make this one pop.

  • Inspiration: It’s Raining Men
  • Price: $12.00

Fair Maiden– Viral: a sky blue creme with orange-red to green shifting shimmer and iridescent flakes

  • Inspiration: The Beijing rainbow that broke the internet
  • Price: $11.00
  • Cap: None

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula applies very creamy on the nail and builds quickly. My swatches are leaning a touch bright on this, in person it’s definitely a brilliany sky blue but I fear my swatches are leaning more neon on my monitor. I do feel like my swatch video is a more accurate representation of the shade.

Girly Bits– Black Blizzard: a thermal polish that transitions from a dark grey in the cold state to a lighter silver grey in the warm state. Jior Couture: Sonic Rain Boom- a jelly blurple aurora base filled with chameleon and color shifting flakes

  • Inspiration: My Little Pony: Sonic Rainboom
  • Price: $12.50
  • Cap: None

Swatches show three coats with topcoat. Formula is  a medium/light jelly that creates a pond effect between the layers. Flakes behaved lovely, and no texture after topcoat. I’d recommend a good glossy topcoat to really make the flakes pop on this one.

Lemming Lacquer– Dawn Rises- a dark blurple jelly with glittering blue shimmer, magnetic multichrome flakes shifting from green, gold, violet and red.

  • Inspiration: Sun pillars
  • Price: $14.00
  • Cap: 250 bottles

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is on the heavy side and applies very rich, so just be mindful of brush strokes. The magnetic particles are of the heavier variety so I’d recommend just a few extra seconds to get the magnetic pigment to move along with your magnet. The base is a dark eggplant with blue shimmer and the multichrome magnetic pigment easily shifts from a pinky gold to green on extreme angles.

Moonflower Polish- Noche Eterna- a black base creme with contrasting green-gold multichrome shimmer, for stamping and regular wear.

  • Inspiration: Hurricane Maria’s devastating effects on Puerto Rico
  • Price: $12.50
  • Cap: 70US/5UK

Swatches show one coat on its own and stamped over white. This is a one coater if you wear it alone that mostly shows as a dark forest green. When stamped over light colors you can see the primary green color. Over darker colors your image will be more subtle but you’ll see the shimmer come out to play stronger.

Nailed It– We’re Not In Kansas Anymore: a purple jelly base packed with red/gold/green crystal flakies, red/gold Aurora, and a subtle scattered holo

  • Inspiration: Tornado from Wizard of Oz
  • Price: $12.75
  • Cap: 120USA/20UK

Swatches show three coats with topcoat. Formula builds like a rich jelly on the nail and has a very warm glow overall from the shimmer and flakes. Full opacity can be reached at 2 normal coats, so I’d say depending on how you wear it will depend on how rich the base color is. I went for three to really pack a punch. No texture after topcoat.

Pretty Beautiful Unlimited: Light Pillars- a purple leaning navy base in between a jelly and crelly, with violet to blue to green magnetic UCC flakes, a mix of 4 crystal chameleon flakies and red to green shifting Aurora pigment.

  • Inspiration:  a photograph taken in Northern Ontario of Light Pillars
  • Price: $13.00
  • Cap: 126 bottles

Swatches show three coats magnetized with topcoat. Formula is very rich and super loaded with pigments. I’d say 2-3 coats for opacity. There’s lots to see here, with a rainbow of flakes and very strong shimmer all against a deep purple base. The magnetic pigment felt on the heavier side so I’d recommend a few more seconds to get the pigments to form a harsh line. I’d recommend a glossy topcoat to really make this one pop.

Supernatural Lacquer– Parhelion: a light and airy periwinkle blue base with orange/green/gold chameleon glitters, dark blue/purple colorshift flakes, large particle holo dust and a copper/gold shimmer.

  • Inspiration: Parhelions, also known as “sundogs”, are a pair of brightly colored spots of light or “mock suns” which appear in a halo affect around the sun. They are caused by sunlight filtering through a thin cloud of hexagonal ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere.
  • Price: $12.00
  • Cap: 280US/20UK

Swatches show three coats with topcoat. Formula feels jelly like and delicate. I’d recommend three coats for opacity, just note if you have a bright free edge like me you’ll see just a sliver of VNL in very bright lights. I think this would double very well as a topper too, there’s lots of twinkle to see here from the shimmer and flakes. No texture after topcoat.
