Alright you guys, I’m continuing on the blog-a-thon this weekend and showing you guys something I got REALLY excited for that makes my gamer heart sing! This month we have the very first Polished Gamers box going up. Each month will feature a different theme and several makers collab together for various inspirations around a certain game. For August, we have Legend of Zelda for the theme (YAASS) and several products to choose from. This box is the type that you can pick and choose what you want, though note that some items have caps on them. I was sent nine products for review, and there are a few others that will be available as well including earrings and magnets! Let’s get to it!
Chirality
Cuticle Oil in the scent Ocarina of Time $9 with a cap of 30. Official description: a fruity blend of green apples with a touch of blackberry combined with the iconic smells of open meadows and sage.
This cuticle oil has a very fresh, clean, but fruity scent to it. At the forefront you can smell the apples and blackberries and there a very crisp background that’s fresh. The applicator is a large doe foot style, that picks up just the right amount for one nail at a time. It also came shrink wrapped which I totally love as you’ll know you’re the first one to open it. The oil is on the lighter feel, and soaks in very quickly to the skin.
Colores de Carol
The Hero of Hyrule- a bright medium blue with multichrome shimmer and holographic dust. $11 with no cap.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula has a very rich feel on application and builds up crazy fast. The holo is very strong and there’s a strong aqua glow overall. If you’re following me on instragram, this is the polish I teased in my stories a few days ago.
Geekish Glitter Lacquer
The Hour of Twilight- a white crelly base with gold holo microglitter, bubblegum pink micro flakes, and aqua sparks. $9.00 with no cap.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is very dense, heavy and creamy and applied very smooth on the nail. The base takes on a slight pink undertone from the pink micro flakes, and in person you can see all those adorable little flecks across the nail. This dries down matte, so I’d recommend a glossy topcoat to really make it pop.
Heaven Scent Treasure Candles
Roll Oil Perfume in the scent Looks Like You Could Use a Heart. Official scent description: a combination of light fruits and florals, peaches, bananas, and citrus followed with soft florals of jasmine and wild violets on a background of warm vanilla and exotic musk. (Inspired by Lush’s Snow Fairy) $9 with no cap.
This perfume oil has a roller ball applicator, and applies a generous amount of product in one swipe. You’ll need to give your bottle a good shake, and you’ll also get a scatter of silvery flakes on your skin. It was being shy in my photos, so in the swatch video you can see a better representation of how much comes out. The scent is identical to Lush’s Snow Fairy scent, which honestly I feel is hard to describe. It’s kind of fruity, but there’s a strong musky undertone to it as well.
Nevermind Polish
Sheikah Glyphs nail vinyls $4 with no cap.
I used these over a black cream, and a lovely bright aqua to represent how we always see the glyphs in the video game. These were very easy to peel up and use, and I have a full tutorial on my swatch video.
Night Owl Lacquer
Blupees- a bright glowy blue with aqua and gold flecks, blue crystal flakes, gold/copper/green crystal chameleon flakes and holographic micro flakes. $11 with no cap.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is very crelly like and builds up easily. Depending on how you apply, you might need a third coat. This is very sparkly and has a metallic shimmer to it overall. No texture after topcoat.
Red Eyed Lacquer
Shield of Honor- a blurple crelly with red shimmer and red/orange UCC flakes. $11 with no cap.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is on the medium side, and has a squishy feel on application. The shimmer here gives off an almost metallic look and appears as a strong pink. The flakes are on the smaller side, and lay down flat for me. I had no problem getting them on the brush and applying, and they appear as a lovely bright red in person. No texture after topcoat.
Sassy Cats Lacquer
Breath of the Wild- a bright pink polish with shifting blue to gold micro flakes, rose to gold micro flakes, and gold flakes with blue and purple shimmer. $10 no cap.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula feels heavy and dense on application, and very smooth when applying. This is a very vibrant magenta in my opinion and in person you can see the microflakes creating a dense scatter across the nail. It dries down matte, so I’d recommend a glossy topcoat to really make it pop.
3Cheers4Ears
Popsocket that is 3D printed in the Hylian Shield. Approximately 2.5 inches by 2.1 inches. $25 with a cap of 30.
This popsocket feels VERY solid in person, with a fantastic weight to it. There’s lots of detail on it, and the blue portion feels like an ultra smooth resin finish. Overall, it feels very high quality and sturdy. So very cute!!
The box launches August 15th at 12pm MST, through August 20th. Be sure to check out my swatch video to see all of these in action! Please note, these will launch on their own site, linked below. It’s not necessary to be in the group to buy any of these, but if you’re wanting to join some polished gamer goodness, I’ll link you guys below 😉
Thanks so much for reading! ❤
