Baroness X: Acetone Antidote in Violet Magic

  • Description: A dupe of Lush’s Kirbside Violet. It’s a floral, woody scent starts with ylang ylang, rosewood, jasmine with a powdery touch and finishes off with a tart violet
  • Inspiration: Inspired by Demi’s grandma Violet, my cousin and I would joke about how she was clairvoyant AND it’s inspired by the use of violets in magic. Violets are bound to Venus and water. You can use it’s leaves to absorb evil spells and ill will.
  • Price: $4.25
  • Cap: None

I use one bottle per Zoya’s acetone pump (I’ve been refilling it for months now with 100% pure acetone) and I get a lovely lingering scent on my cuticles with the power of pure acetone for removal. I also like to drop three drops into a dappen dish with pure acetone for cleanup with I’m on swatching kicks. This month’s smells very interesting and lovely to me, I get a top note of a woody powder, with a touch of floral medium notes and a violet scent on the background. This is earthy and soothing to the smell. Very lovely!

Baroness X: Smoke and Mirrors

  • Description: a black to colorless thermal polish, glows green in the dark, shifts from green to purple and has a scattering of various silver glitters.
  • Inspiration: Magician’s and their smoke and mirrors tricks
  • Price: $11
  • Cap: 75 bottles

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is rich and somewhat jelly but applies very opaque on the nail. The warm state is colorless, and takes on a green glowing cream appearance, and the cold state is a smoky black with a strong green glow. There’s a purple shift as well in either state, and the temperature reaction is very sensitive. I went in with a glossy topcoat to seal everything in (it does dry down very matte) and I had no texture.

Lemming Lacquer: lotion in Amortentia

  • Description:  a fresh blend of citrus, peaches, and rose with a sweet musky base.
  • Inspiration: Amortentia
  • Price: $7
  • Cap: 50

This smells very fruity to me, with a musky undertone. Very pleasant and semi-sweet. The formula is the type that easily spreads on your skin and soaks in quickly with no greasy feel. It reminds me of a body spray I used to wear though I can’t put my finger on it! Very lovely feel overall.
