Hello gorgeous readers! I have three (planned) posts for you all this weekend! They are hella epic as we approach the fall season (or summer depending on your region). I’m starting off with Emily de Molly’s September releases and I am floored by this set! I’ll spare any more gabbing and get to the swatches, so let’s paint some nails!
**Polishes with a star indicate they are limited to ONE large batch, once they sell out they are gone for good!
**Be Still and Know– a dark purple base with turquoise green micro flakes, rose pink holographic glitters and a strong coppery brown magnetic effect. $11USD/$13AUD
Swatches show two coats magnetized with topcoat. Formula feels rich and jelly like on application and builds up easily. I had no problems with the larger glitters on application and after topcoating I had no texture either.
Cake in a Crisis– a neon lime green crelly base with gold chrome flakes. $9USD/$11AUD
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. This is what I would consider a true acid green, it’s eye searing bright, rich and has what I would consider both a very slight yellow and white undertone. This one has strong self leveling and a buttery smooth formula. It does dry down matte so I’d recommend a glossy topcoat.
Crime of Passion– a dark magenta pink base with pink to gold shifting foil type shimmer. $9USD/$11AUD
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is rich and smooth on application and builds up very quickly to opacity. My swatches are leaning more red than magenta, so please refer to my swatch video for color accuracy. The base color is a cool toned magenta, and the foil shimmer is crazy strong and beautiful giving a cool toned glow. If you love this brands shimmer (highly recommend) then you’ll need to add this one to your collection.
Everyday is the Same– a dark eggplant purple base filled with iridescent shifting flakes. $10USD/$12AUD
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula feels like a heavy crelly on application with a super smooth feel. The flakes give a strong multicolor pond effect similar to stained glass. No issues to report and no texture after topcoat.
Left Turns– a dark, but vibrant blurple filled with iridescent shifting flakes. $10USD/$12AUD
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is very similar to Everyday is the Same. I’d like to note that this is a true blurple and my swatches are leaning a touch blue. Please refer to my swatch video for color accuracy.
**Picking Petals– a pale duck egg blue/grey/green base with rose gold micro flakes. $9USD/$11AUD
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula rich and creamy with strong self leveling. The base color is interesting to me, as it flirts with a blue grey, though I can see the oh so slightly green touch to it. I do feel like my video was color accuract and my swatches matched decently to what I see in person. Those micro flakes are beautiful and contrast to give a tiny twinkling effect on the nail.
The Morning Light– a silver holographic micro glitter in a really pale green/grey base with a fine particle pink/gold/green shifting aurora shimmer. $12USD/$14AUD
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. This is a full on, full coverage microglitter and I AM SO HERE FOR IT. I LOVE microglitters, so please note this will require a touch more effort for removal. The glitters here and the type the sparkle like crazy and the background has a strong shimmer that glows like crazy. This might require an additional layer of topcoat if yours is on the thin side, though I didn’t have any problems with my usual topcoat (NOL’s Patience Not Required) and I went in with one coat.
Riot of Shadows– a dusty green base with a fine particle copper/gold/green aurora shimmer and silver holographic micro glitters. $12USD/$14AUD
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is rich and smooth and the shimmer is crazy strong against the dusty base. Lot’s of scattered sparkle from the holo micro glitters and no texture after topcoat.
These beauties will release September 25th at 10am AEST and September 24th at 8pm EST in their respective shops. Be sure to check out my swatch video to see these beauties in action (and allll those shifts and sparkles)!
