Aaah. Tuesdays. It’s the one day in the week where I have a night class that has turned Tuesday into my hump day. After today the rest of the week flies by to the weekend! It’s feeling so magical here in the South, we finally had a cool front and the last two days have been in the 80s. Magical, I tell you! It really feels like Halloween is around the corner when we finally can walk outside and not break a sweat in thirty seconds flat. Which brings me to this week! I’ve been post happy and even breaking my weekend only posting schedule to bring you guys SO many new releases this season! Tonight, I’m showing you all Potion Polish’s Autumn collection and damn are these amazing! Let’s get to the swatches!
Hello October– a pumpkin orange scattered holo. **this color is very pigmented so it is advised to use a coat or two of base coat to prevent staining.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is crazy buttery smooth and oh so satisfying on those brush strokes. Now, our blogger info mentioned a potential for staining and I can at least discuss my personal experience; I had no staining whatsoever. In the past, when a polish is a bad stainer, it always goes right through my latex barrier and I am left with bright red/orange fingers. I personally didn’t have that problem but it definitely is pigmented, so make sure to use a base coat for prevention just in case! Overall, I’d classify this one as a one coater, the formula is so freaking good.
Cider on the Porch– a deep plum jelly packed with red/gold/copper shifting chrome flakes.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is ultra smooth, squishy and jelly like on application and really builds up on that second coat. Those of you with longer nails might need a third coat. This is loaded with flakes that give a strong warm glow. I don’t color edit my photos as what I see on an edited picture on my monitor might look really odd on someone else’s, but this time I did brighten things up a big as my camera picked this one up way dark. In person you can easily tell it’s a vampy plum with a strong reddish/copper glow from the flakes. Please refer to my swatch video for a better representation. It’s gorgeous. Trust me. It does dry down semi-matte so I’d recommend a glossy topcoat to really make those flakes pop.
Roasting Smores– a charcoal grey with copper/red/orange shifting chrome flakes and hints of copper holo glitters.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula has a smooth crelly feel on application and lays down perfectly with the flakes. This one dries down a touch semi-gloss so I think any topcoat will do.
Fall Farmhouse– a sage green stuffed with red/gold/copper shiftingchrome flakes and a touch of matching aurora shimmer.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Once again, a beautiful crelly formula that is super smooth on application. That base color though. Yum. The shimmer is a touch subtle in my photos but in person it’ll give a lovely warm sparkle in the background of the flakes. Again, I think any topcoat will be fine with it.
Knit Sweater– a light grey with orange, turquoise and bright pink glitters in various sizes.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is rich and dense on application and had perfect coverage at two coats for me. *grabs mega phone* LIGHT COLORED CRELLY ALERT. Love me some white(ish) crellies loaded up with sparkles and rainbows! I’d describe the base as a pale grey, this isn’t stark white but it’s a gorgeous light grey. I’d like to note, this one dries down on the matte side so personally I’d recommend a thick glossy topcoat or two coats of normal/thin topcoat.
These pretties will release October 12th at 1pm EST! Be sure to check out my swatch video to see these pretties in action!
