Happy polish pickup week lovely readers! November’s theme for PPU is Fairy Tales and I have to say… this is probably one of my favorite months so far! Not only did I review so many GORGEOUS pretties, but my wishlist is totally WAY too long haha!  I have a ton of goodies to show you guys, so I’m going to dive right in to it! I’ve got several items that will be available this weekend so let’s get to it!

Baroness X Acetone Antidote: Hansel und Gretel- gingerbread bundt cake topped with candied pears and a touch of bourbon based glaze.

  • Inspiration: Hansel and Gretel
  • Price: $4.25
  • Cap: None

This month’s scent is super unique and smells amazing! It’s totally vibing with the current season! I smell candy, a hint of pears and an undertone of spiced cake. I add an entire vial to my acetone pump bottle that is roughly 8 ounces. It allows for the removal power of acetone while leaving my cuticles smooth and a hint of a lingering scent. Lately, I’ve also been using it for cleanup between swatch sessions in my dappen dish. 2-3 drops and I’m good!

Baroness X: Let Your Hair Down-  a deep green leaning teal holo with coppery metallic pigment.

  • Inspiration: Rapunzel
  • Price: $11.50
  • Cap: None

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is creamy smooth and lush on application. This dries down semi glossy, so I think any topcoat will do. The holo is very linear and has a gorgeous coppery sheen from the metallic pigment.

Blush Lacquers: The Golden Goose- a light 24 karat gold linear holographic nail polish with gold flakes and holographic flakes.

  • Inspiration: The Golden Goose
  • Price: $12.50
  • Cap: None

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is smooth on application and builds up to opacity very quickly on the nail. There’s LOADS of sparkle here, and lots of depth. I’d describe this as a true gold; it feels like molten gold on my nails. Very tinsel like! No texture after topcoat.

By Dany Vianna: To the Moon and Back-  a warm grey base with added holographic flakies and gold metalic flakies.

  • Inspiration: The book Guess How Much I Love You
  • Price: $11.50
  • Cap: 150US/15UK

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula applies like a smooth crelly, and builds up nicely at two coats. There’s strong self leveling to this one and the flakes are of the smaller variety, so you’ll get a subtle pond effect across the nail. No problems picking them up on the brush and on the nail. No texture after topcoat.

  • Price: $11
  • Cap: 95US/5UK

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is rich and smooth on application and self levels perfectly. This is such a flattering red, lots of sparkles and a lovely cool toned feel. The gold and silver flakes gives a lovely sparkly depth and no texture after topcoat.

Emily de Molly: The Real Deal- a dusty pink base filled with blue to pink shifting shimmer.

  • Inspiration: The Nightingale by Hans Christian Anderson
  • Price: $11
  • Cap: 200US/20UK

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is smooth on application and quickly builds to opacity. This is a super strong foiled effect that shifts strongly between blue and a vibrant pink. I can see this one looking amazing matte, too. No issues to report here either and smooth sailing after topcoat.

  • Inspiration: Rapunzel
  • Ingredients: Diheptyl succinate, capryloyl glycerin, sebacic acid, copolymer, argan oil, camellia oil, rice bran oil, sunflower oil, calendula extract, sunflower extract, aloe extract, Irish moss extract, marshmallow extract, vitamin E.
  • Price: $8.75
  • Cap: None

This is a lovely hair oil. I tried it several times before I felt confident in my words for reivew. I want to note that this has a light weight formula, but really goes a long way. You can use this as a leave in moisturizer for your hair, or you can go in heavy and use it as a hair mask. Personally, I used two sprays into my hand and rubbed my palms together and scrunched into my towel dried hair. A little goes a long way! Overall, there is truly no scent with this as I smelled my palms like crazy and couldn’t really smell… anything. The spray bottle is lovely and metal with a sturdy grip and sprays a ton of product, so personally I would apply with my hand method unless you were using it as a hair mask and meaning to go in heavy. Overall, I really liked it! Those of you with curly hair like me, I’d say it’s best to use after the shower on your ends and you’ll get a lovely natural ‘glossy’ feel to your hair. I didn’t have any problems with weighing down, but once again I only used two sprays so I think a little experimentation will be good for your hair type.

Glisten & Glow: base and topcoat duo

  • Price: $13.50
  • Cap: None

I’ve been testing out the top and base coat a lot since I received this for review and I must say I can totally see the hype behind the topcoat! I really like the base coat as it does not have that overly thin feel after applying, but not too thick either. The topcoat is SUPER glossy and dries down quickly. I used it in all of the polishes in the swatch video and I must say, I totally approve of both! Using them together definitely improved on my corner chips too (my free edge is a little sharp on the corners).

Glisten & Glow: Wrong Lever!- a rich navy polish packed with pink/purple/orange/green color shifting aurora shimmers.

  • Inspiration: Yzma and Kronk from the Emperor’s New Groove
  • Price: $12.00
  • Cap: 160US/20UK

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is heavy and ultra rich on application and heavily flirts with being a one coater. This is such a buttery application with very strong self leveling. The shimmer is being shy in my swatches but note in person, in bright lights you’ll easily see it as a vibrant pink with purple, orange, and green at angles. Very shifty, and of the finer particle size. It dries down semi-gloss so I think any topcoat will do.

Indie by Patty Lopes: That Way- a medium blue crelly base with green to blue duochrome shimmer, iridescent multichrome flakies, scattered holo micro glitters, plus it glows blue in the dark!

  • Inspiration: Alice in Wonderland
  • Price: $11.50
  • Cap: 80US/5UK

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula feels very jelly like on application and I’d recommend between 2-3 coats for opacity. This is such a lovely vibrant blue, with a strong green shimmer depth. There’s a scattered sparkle here and it glows very bright blue in the dark.

Lemming Lacquer: Fight the Fairies!- a dusty indigo base with red/orange shimmer, red/gold/green and purple/blue/green iridescent color shifting flakes, and a scattering of holo for added magic.

  • Inspiration: an episode of Supernatural called Clap Your Hands If You Believe.
  • Price: $13.00
  • Cap: None

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula has a heavy feel on application and stays where you put it. There’s lots of sparkle here and a lovely red shimmer that shifts to green at extreme angles. No issues with the flakes, and no texture after topcoat.

Night Owl Lacquer: The Buried Moon- a blackened plum filled with gold/copper/green color shifting crystal chameleon flakes and aqua crystal flakes.

  • Inspiration: the tale of The Buried Moon
  • Price: $12.50
  • Cap: None

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula feels like a smooth crelly and I had no issues getting the flakes from the bottle on to my nail. This is probably the most flakie filled polish I’ve worked with! They laid down flat for me and give a strong mosaic contrast against that plum base. No texture after topcoat.

Night Owl Lacquer: One Who Was Both Hero and Villain- a clear based effect topper with black shreds, red metallic shreds and holographic micro flakies.

  • Inspiration: Maleficent
  • Price: $10.00
  • Cap: None

Swatches show one coats applied over a grey cream. This is a very dense topper. I can see it being worn on its own in 2-3 coats, to be honest. Lot’s of sparkle here and no problems getting the flakes on my nail and laying down flat for me. After topcoat, no texture.

Pretty Beautiful Unlimited: Inconcievable!- a black jelly base with a hint of multichrome pigment, silver holographic pigment and micro flakies and glitter, black holographic micro glitters and a mix of 5 UCC flakies.

  • Inspiration: The Princess Bride
  • Price: $12.00
  • Cap: 150US/15UK

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is very dense and applies smoothly on the nail. There’s a lovely purple glow here from the shimmer that shifts over to gold at angles. Loads of sparkles to see, and the flakes give a stronger twinkle. This dries down matte, so I’d recommend a glossy topcoat to really make it pop.

Scofflaw Nail Varnish: Revenge of the Ugly Stepsisters- a sparkly lime green base, packed with various glitters of bright pink, bright yellow, lime, turquoise, and purple, and finished off with scattered holo and vibrant violet sparkle highlights.

  • Inspiration: Cinderella
  • Price: $12.50
  • Cap: None

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is heavy in application, stays where you put it and really applies smooth for being so packed! This is such a unique color combination and pops like crazy with all of the colorful glitters in it. It does dry down matte and thirsty so I’d recommend a good glossy topcoat to make this sparkle and smooth out.

Supernatural Lacquer: Found My Heart in Turnanoc-  a slate grey crelly with copper shimmer and contrasting blue/green, orange/gold flake.

  • Inspiration: Carnival Row
  • Price: $12.00
  • Cap: None

Swatches show three coats with topcoat. Formula feels like a jelly on application but dries down like a crelly. This one has strong shimmer that gives a copper glow, and the flakes really remind me of the main characters wings, giving a strong iridescent feel. No issues to report here, and everything was smooth to the touch after topcoat. PS, if you have not seen Carnival Row- you need to.
