Hello again lovelies! I’m back with Glisten and Glow’s Black Friday sale for you all! She is having a discount on her entire shop AND releasing a 12 days of holiday advent calendar! In this post I am going to SPOIL the entire box, so please don’t scroll any further if you’re wanting them to be a surprise! If you’re on the fence and don’t mind spoilers for the entire box, then let’s get to the swatches!
*All polishes shown are topped with Glisten and Glow’s quick dry glossy topcoat.
Day 1: Dasher- a silver mega holo with a strong yellow to gold shimmer and purple/bronze/yellow color shifting UCC flakes.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is on the medium side and builds up to opacity quickly. This is crazy sparkly in person and I had no issues with the flakes or anything.
Day 2: Dancer- a deep plum loaded with holo flakes, tiny red holo glitters, and a hint of purple shimmer.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula applies creamy and opaque on the nail and dries down somewhat matte, so I’d recommend a glossy topcoat to really make those flakes pop.
Day 3: Prancer- a chocolate brown jelly with gold flakes and purple to red color shifting UCC flakes.
Swatches show three coats with topcoat. Formula is crelly like and very smooth on application. I can see 2-3 coats would be great for opacity, though at the third coat you’ll get that deeper chocolate base like my swatches, true to a jelly finish.
Day 4: Vixen- a medium dusty purple cream holo with a rainbow of color shifting UCC flakes, holo flakes, and a green shimmer.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is on the medium side and applies smooth and rich on the nail. This builds up easily and dries down satin like, so again I’d recommend a glossy topcoat to really exploit those shimmers and flakes.
Day 5: Comet- a bright blue multichrome that shifts purple with a dusting of holo and lots of twinkling holo micro flakes.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is smooth and buttery and has a very dense feel on application. This is so lush and gorgeous in person, at extreme angles you’ll see that purple shift come out and there’s so much depth from the multichrome pigment and the holo flakes. No texture after topcoat.
Day 6: Glisten and Glow top coat
I’ve been using this topcoat since reviewing it for PPU last month, and I have to say it passes my personal test. It dries down quickly and very glossy but isn’t gloopy. I’ve reached about a quarter way down the bottle so far, and I haven’t had any issues with it so far.
Day 7: Cupid- a rose gold holo loaded with gold holo microglitters, electric blue micro flakes, and gold shimmer.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is on the crelly side and applies very opaque on the nail. This is super flattering even on someone warm toned like myself, and popped very nicely. This also dries down satin like so I think a glossy topcoat really exploits the sparkles.
Day 8: Donner- a deep evergreen jelly loaded with various iridescent flakes and glitters.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is very squishy and jelly like and dries down buttery smooth and glossy. This applies very opaque for a jelly and I think any topcoat will be just fine.
Day 9: Glisten and Glow Base Coat
I’ve also tested this one out quite a bit since reviewing it for PPU last month. I really like how it’s not one of those ultra thin base coats. Most of the time they are so very thin and offer (what I feel) to be little protection for a base but this one feels a little sturdier in terms of a base coat.
Day 10: Blitzen- a light blue creamy linear holo with rainbow crystal chameleon flakes, tiny holo micro flakes and purple shimmer.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. This is another crazy flattering shade, it’s such a beautiful baby blue. It’s vibrant, but powdery at the same time. It also applies creamy on the nail and self levels perfectly. This will dry down satin like, so I think a glossy topcoat will really make the iridescence of the flakes pop.
Day 11: Rudolph- a sexy Christmas red holo loaded with holo flakes, and red to orange color shifting UCC flakes.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is rich and dense on application and builds up easily. This is crazy holographic and the UCC flakes are of the smaller variety, so you’ll get a lovely depth with them. I think any topcoat will be fine with it, as it dries down semi glossy.
Day 12: Cuticle oil pen in peppermint candy cane scent
This cuticle oil has also been used quite a bit since I received it, just so I can give my honest thoughts. It has a lighter consistency that soaks in nicely, and the pen has given me no trouble so far. The scent is on the softer side so if you have scent sensitivities, this might work out for you as I didn’t find it to be overpowering. This smells of a sweet peppermint (which is legit one of my favorite scents) and is so very pleasant.
Each polish is numbered on the gift wrapped burrito (shown in the main collage shot) and will come in a gift wrapped box. There are only 75 sets available, so get in there and grab it as soon as the shop opens if you’re wanting one. As of now, Jill has posted that these are at the halfway point for sales, so they’re going fast!
The full advent will be $105. Glisten and Glow is also having their black Friday sale during this launch, and the box IS eligible for discount! Use the code GG2019BlackFriday for 30% off the entire website, making this box $73.50 before shipping (that’s about 6 bucks a present!). The Black Friday sale is only valid during November 25th at 7pm EDT through December 2 at 11:59pm EDT.
Thanks so much for reading! ❤

Thanks. I always need to see actual swatches before I purchase. Bottle pictures are pretty and sometimes beautifully artistic, but polish often looks different on actual nails. Bottle pictures are —in my opinion— useless in my purchase decision. Besides that, your swatches are gorgeous. P. S. I like it best when you are able to include a mix o skin tones. As you know, polish sometimes looks totally different on my ultra-pale fingers and your beautiful brown ones.

Thank you so much! I totally agree, a variety of skin tones is a must! There’s several other bloggers that reviewed the advent too- I believe most have posted their links to the Glisten and Glow Facebook group. From what I’ve seen of the others, there’s some lovely light toned bloggers too! ❤
