Hello lovely readers! I gave you all a bit of rest after my blog-a-gheddon black Friday week lol! I think this year was the most intense and I want a badge that says ‘I survived blogging black Friday 2019’ haha! I have lots of new pretties releasing and if my computer cooperates, several posts to share! First up is Potion Polish and her brand new Christmas collection! These have been released this afternoon, so let’s check them out!

Magic in the Air: a blackberry jelly filed with pink holographic glitters in various sizes.

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is very rich and dense on application and the brush strokes are super smooth. This builds up to a vampy purple and has so much pink sparkle! It does dry down matte, so I’d recommend a glossy topcoat to really make it pop.

Holiday Baking: a soft mint crelly with Christmas litter mix and accented with aurora shimmer.

Swatches show three coats with topcoat. Formula applies like a medium crelly and is really going to depend on how you apply for opacity. I thought it looked just fine at two coats, but went in for that third to really plump it out. It is a bit thirsty for topcoat so I’d recommend a heavier topcoat to seal everything in or two coats of a normal topcoat to prevent any texture.

Cocoa by the Fire: a chocolate brown jelly filled with red/orange/copper shifting chrome flakes and copper holographic glitter. *this polish is very pigmented, so be sure to use a base coat*

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is rich and smooth on application and is very opaque for a jelly. Please note, I wear a latex base coat in all of my swatches and in this collection I personally had no staining. Normally a staining polish will go right through that latex, and I did not have that problem. Just to be safe, I’d recommend a base coat. I feel like my swatches did not do this one justice, it builds up to a rich vampy brown, but in person there is so much sparkle and red flake appearance with loads of depth. After topcoating, I had no texture.

Christmas Tree: a forest green jelly packed with red/orange/copper shifting chrome flakes and gold holographic glitter. *this polish is very pigment, so be sure to use a base coat*

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is rich and smooth on application, similar to Cocoa, but I felt like it was just a touch lighter on formula. Those with a light hand or longer nails might need that third coat. This is another that I don’t think my watches did it justice, in person there’s a ton of sparkle and depth from the flakes. After topcoat I had no texture.

Secret Santa: a festive Christmas red scattered holographic with a dash of gold holo glitter.

Swatches show two ocats with topcoat. This is rich and dense on application and pretty much a one coater. So very satisfying on the brush strokes. The holo is linear but is one of those saturated types that the effect matches the base color. The gold glitters are very fine particle so they give a gorgeous gold twinkle across the nail.

These are available right now starting today, so get in there and grab them if you’re wanting them as this brand (in my experience) typically makes smaller batches for release.

Thanks so much for reading! ❤
