Hello lovely readers! I have another amazing collection to show you all today! Cupcake Polish is releasing a collection inspired by a trip that maker Sara went to! I’m so jelly, Iceland is on my bucket list to visit one day! The set features six polishes: three shimmers and three flakes. Let’s get to the swatches!
Blue Lagoon– a light blue packed with blue to pink iridescent shimmer, blue to pink iridescent flakies, and holographic micro flakies.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is jelly like, but builds up quickly to opacity. For most, I think two coats will be just fine. No texture after topcoat.
Gullfoss– a dark purple packed with orange/gold/green shifting aurora shimmer and orange/gold/green iridescent glitters.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is jelly like, but has a heavy feeling to the formula. After swatching it, I’d recommend going in normal on your coats and allowing the polish to self level. There’s a ton of shift with the flakes! This one does dry down matte, so I’d recommend a good glossy topcoat to make it plump out.
Aurora Borealis– a black jelly filled with teal/blue/purple/pink/gold shifting multichrome and iridescent flakes and holographic micro flakes.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is very similar to Gullfoss, so I’d recommend applying in a similar fashion. Aurora also dries down matte, so again I’d recommend a glossy topcoat to make it pop.
Heart of Iceland– a light red to orange shifting duochrome shimmer.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is somewhat crelly like and really builds up quickly. I went in thin on my first coat, and normal on my second and had lovely plumping action. All three shimmers dry down satin like, so I’d recommend a glossy topcoat. Although, I think they’d look fantastic matted too.
Lupine– a purple packed with blue to green to gold shifting aurora shimmer.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. I applied very similar to Heart and I had no issues. This one is so shifty and has a strong color roll to it.
Eldhraun– a pea green packed with blue to pink to gold shifting aurora shimmer.
Swatches show three coats with topcoat. Out of the shimmers, this one has the lightest formula but still reaches lovely opacity. It absolutely glows and I think if you have medium to deep skin ton, it’s going to pop like crazy on you.
Each polish will be sold individually for $13. The collection launches January 27th at 7pm CST! I’ve heard there might be an incentive to buy within the first 24 hours so definitely join the Facebook fan group to be in the know!
Thanks so much for reading! ❤
