Blush Lacquers: In the Begining

  • Description: a pale, silver toned lavendery pink, linear ultra holographic.
  • Inspiration: the creation of the universe
  • Price: $13
  • Cap: None

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is rich and smooth and appears pearlescent in indoor lighting with a touch of linear holo showing. It’s so very linear, I included a direct light shot to show it all off. In the sun, it really lights up.

By Dany Vianna: Pharos

  • Description: a coral pinkish red when cold, to a baby pink when warm thermal with gold shimmer and matte white rectangle glitters.
  • Inspiration: Lighthouses
  • Price: $12
  • Cap: 200

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is jelly like and smooth, and the thermal properties are crazy reactive. The rectangular glitters might require a tiny bit of fishing and placement to get them evenly distributed.

By Vanessa Molino: Misteries of Egypt

  • Description: a dusty brown (cold) to pinkish beige (warm) thermal with ultrachrome chameleon flakes in bronze/magenta/purple/gold and a subtle scattered holo.
  • Inspiration: ancient Egypt’s mysterious nights
  • Price: $13
  • Cap: 200

Swatches show three coats with topcoat. This one is also jelly like on application and can also be used as a topper. I think at the third coat the warm color starts to pop, otherwise you’ll have a lovely neutral pink that would look awesome over a cream. The thermal properties are also crazy reactive.

  • Inspiration: Roman Bath Houses
  • Price: $13
  • Cap: None

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula applies like a dense crelly, and dries down matte. The base color is so vibrant and flattering, I think depending on your lighting this might lean more blue or minty aqua. I think my swatch video gives a good representation if you’d prefer.

DRK Nails: Easy Magnetic Effect

  • Description: developed the make magnetic polishes easier and faster! Apply a generous coat of this topper over your polish and use your magnet of choice.
  • Inspiration: the magic attraction between Roxanne and Alexander the Great
  • Price: $7.50
  • Cap: None

I was very excited to try out this topcoat, and I was not disappointed. You apply your magnetic polish like a normal polish and then top with this nifty little thing (generously) and then use your magnet of choice. I chose the ring magnet that comes with A Ring for Roxanne. If you decide to use the side of the ring, you’ll repel the magnetic particles and get a circular design like my swatches. Otherwise you can hold the ring on its side and get a thin line. Overall I approve of this topcoat, the two magnetics I used it on in this post were of a heavier pigment so I think it would be even more effective on magnetic polishes that have a normal/lighter pigment weight. The formula of it is very watery, though after washing your hands, any topcoat that got on your cuticles washes off. It dries down like a normal topcoat so it still seals everything in.

Esmaltes da Kelly: Gladiators

  • Description: a warm red jelly base with gold, black and red holographic glitters in a variety of sizes.
  • Inspiration: Gladiators
  • Price: $10.50
  • Cap: 200

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula applies very dense and smooth on the nail despite the amount of glitter. There’s a ton and it plumps out easily by the second coat. I topped off with EdK’s glitter smoothing duo and I had no texture. Otherwise, I’d suggest two thin coats of topcoat or a decent amount of topcoat.

Fair Maiden: Lady Godiva

  • Description: a neutral beige nude jelly base loaded with red the green shimmer, iridescent flakes, and scattered holo.
  • Inspiration: Lady Godiva’s choice of clothing… or lack of lol
  • Price: $11
  • Cap: None

Swatches show three coats with topcoat. Formula is jelly like but builds easily. This is what I’d consider a true nude base, as it will appear differently on a person depending on skin tone.

  • Inspiration: the iconic line from the movie 300
  • Price: $12.50

Glisten and Glow: Quick Dry Glossy Topcoat

  • Description: an award winning fast dry glossy topcoat that dries within 2-4 minutes and increases the length of polish wear without smearing nail art.
  • Price: $7.50
  • Cap: None

This is the topcoat shown in all polishes in this post excluding the magnetics and the EdK. I have used this topcoat so much over the last few months and highly recommend it. It has never smeared my stamping, and dries very quickly with a lovely glossy shine. I’ve gone through almost two bottles so far and I’m still digging it.

Lemming Lacquer: Bast

  • Description: a darky inky blue jelly base with bronze/copper/gold/pink mangetic multichrome magnetic flakes, sapphire and gold holo sparkes and holo microflakes
  • Inspiration: Bast, goddess of cats, protection, pleasure and bringer of good health
  • Price: $13
  • Cap: 250

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is rich and dense and heavily flirts with being a one coater. The magnetic particles are of the heavier side, so I’d recommend going just a little longer with your magnet. If worn alone, I think it still looks really cool with all the shimmer scattered throughout.

Vapid.: Body Butter in the scent Pestilence

  • Description: scented in Pestilence to match the polish and has scent notes of: smokey sweet tabacco laced with musky vanilla, with the clean hint of lavender and the smoothness of tonka bean. Is in a 4 ounce tub.
  • Inspiration: Pestilence
  • Price: $10
  • Cap: None

I’m picky on butter. Like, really picky. I have two shelves in my bathroom of all the brands I’ve tried and hoarded. I was very excited to see that Vapid was bringing butter to the table and I love it. It’s on the heavier feeling when you use in, and moisturizes perfectly. I prefer my butters to behave like… well, butter and this does it. It’s whipped and dense, but melts as you rub it in. The scent is lovely and very unisex, with the sweet tobacco and vanilla at the forefront. You can catch undertones of lavender and Tonka bean at the ends of the scent. Very pleasant and not overwhelming. Definitely recommend.
