*PRESS SAMPLE: these were sent to me for an honest review*

Hello again lovelies! Mary of Quixotic Polish is bringing us a new collection featuring an array of colored flakes, and a new base coat this weekend! There are some gorgeous pretties to see, so let’s dive right in!

Ambrosia: A dark teal blue base ignited with red to gold to green shifting shimmers and accented with holo micro flakes $11

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is ultra smooth and dense on application and builds up quickly. The along with the others in the collection dry down flat, so I’d recommend a glossy topcoat to make them pop. The one used in this post is Mary’s Fancy a Quickie topcoat.

Red Ivy: A lush brick maroon filled to the brim with a dazzling array of red/gold/green iridescent flakes $11

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is jelly like and dense, with a touch of squish to it. The flakes behaved perfect for me across the board. I had no issues with another of them and they laid down nice and flat for me.

Nightshade: A blackened teal base packed with red/gold/green and green/blue shifting iridescent flakes $11

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. This applies very similar to Red Ivy, and builds up quickly to opacity.

Haunting: A raisin purple base full of a delicate red/green shifting iridescent flake $11

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Again, we have a similar formula to the previous two. This vamps out perfectly on the second coat and the flakes pop so well against the dark base.

Aquamarine: An oceanic turquoise with aqua holo microglitters and blue/green/gold shifting iridescent flakes $11

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Without risking repeating myself again, we have another smooth dense feel on application with very easy build up. I worry that my swatches did not do this one justice and photographed pretty light so please refer to my swatch video for better accuracy here.

Sweet purple base coat: provides long lasting manis and exceptional protection. The slight purple tint can be used as a mild color correcting base for stained nails in 2 coats.
Introductory price:$5/Regular price: $6.50

I’m showing you all this new base with one coat. Unfortunately,  I don’t think my nails are stained or yellow to show the correction this can do. I will say, I love the smoothness to it and can definitely see that if you wear it at two thin coats you should see correcting action happening if you have yellowing. I prefer my base coats to be robust and thicker than the usual base, and I think this definitely does it. Between swatching, I always wear two coats of a thicker base for protection, and it’s easy to remove for the massive swatching I do every other night. I like the consistency to this, and I think it does the trick that I look for in protection.
