PRESS SAMPLE: these were sent to me for an honest review
Whew! I’m so sorry for so many posts today, but I wanted to be caught up! Rounding out the post-a-thon is Femme Fatale’s Arizona Dusk collection. I’m so excited to add this brand to my review lineup as I have been collecting Femme’s since I got into indies back in 2012! My blogger pack went for an adventure for the initial release of this collection, but we’re here so it’s all good! This collection is named after various plants and geology of the Grand Canyon/Arizona; with Aeolian being the exception and named after a type of wind erosion. I went to the Grand Canyon as a kid and I’ve been planning to take my son there when things return to normal. Let’s take a peek!
Toroweap $12.50 AUD – A smooth, sheer olive green with strong yellow undertones and prominent violet sheen; filled with holographic golden glitters.
Swatches show three coats with topcoat. Formula is jelly like, and the base is somewhat soft so if you have a prominent free edge like myself you might see a bit of your smile line. The glitters give a strong sparkle and the shimmer is a touch subtle, but offers a soft purple glow. I’d suggest a strong top coat to smooth everything out.
Hermit Shale $15.00 AUD – A strong linear holographic with metallic orange magnetic pigment. This is designed to be worn as is, but you are welcome to try a magnetic design if you like.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is dense and smooth and easy to build up. There’s a strong holo factor, but the magnetic pigment gives a crazy strong glow. I chose to wear it without magnetizing as I think it’s perfect as is.
Quartz Sand $12.50 AUD – A creamy apricot pink crème with turquoise shimmer and antique golden metallic microglitters.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is dense but creamy. I’d suggest going in light with your brush strokes to prevent any balding as it’ll self level well. This leans more apricot on me, so if you have medium to deep skin tones it should pull similar. I’d suggest a good glossy topcoat to smooth everything out.
Opuntia $13.00 AUD – A sheer pink jelly base packed with green-purple shifting glass shimmers, and golden holographic microglitters.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is jelly like but builds easily. If you have a prominent free edge, you might see a touch of smile line at two coats, but I went in normally and I though it was just fine. This is one of my top picks in the set, it almost has a foiled finish with the shimmer being larger particles and very strong. The sparkle is scattered but very obvious. You’ll see a touch of a purple shift from the shimmer at angles. Again, I’d suggest a glossy topcoat.
Sand Verbena $14.50 AUD – A very sheer blurple base with strong red-gold-green unicorn shimmer.
Swatches show three coats with topcoat. Formula is soft and jelly like. The shimmer in this one is probably one of the strongest polishes I’ve worked on, with how in your face it is in person. It’s very intense, and I think this would double as a bad ass topper too. You’ll see a bit of free edge if you have nails like mine, so I’d suggest a color correcting base coat if that bugs you. It dries down flat, so I’d suggest a glossy topcoat. Shimmer lovers, I can’t recommend this enough.
Aeolian $13.00 AUD – A bright periwinkle blue crelly base filled with green-purple shifting glass shimmers and accented with silver holographic microglitters.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is very crelly like with a strong creamy feel and a bit of squish. There’s lots of shimmery flecks that have a purple shift at extreme angles. I’d suggest a glossy topcoat as this one also dries down very flat.
Calcite $12.50 AUD – A slightly purpled toned periwinkle blue crelly base with green duochrome flash, and silver holographic glitters in varying sizes. Thin coats recommended due to larger glitters. Should be opaque in 3, and top coat recommended.
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is crelly like and creamy on application. I’d suggest light brush strokes to let it self level and prevent balding as the glitters are on the larger side. There’s a lovely green glow from the shimmer. Again, I’d suggest a glossy topcoat to smooth everything out.
