PRESS SAMPLE: these were sent to me for an honest review
Hello again lovely readers! Moving right along with today’s posts, we have new pretties from Glisten & Glow! This will be a continuing series inspired by Animal Crossing with polishes releasing throughout 2020 and 2021. Let’s take a peek at series one!
**I’d like to note that from here on, all Glisten & Glow polishes will have the paddle brush. You can see it in my swatch video. Nail treatments such as base coat, top coat, etc., will have the narrow brush**
**All polishes shown are topped with Glisten & Glow’s quick dry, glossy topcoat. The final images are with Glisten & Glow’s matte topcoat**
Smash those Rocks – glitter bomb polish that is packed with silver, gold, copper and black galaxy holographic glitters $10
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. I’d consider this a full coverage glitter bomb that builds up very quickly to opacity. I didn’t feel a need to use G&G’s glitter grabber, and when going in just a touch heavier with G&G’s glossy topcoat, I had no texture so it levels out well.
Finds for Flick – linear holographic, multichrome polish that shifts from blue/purple/pink/golden green with a loaded pops of holo microflakes $10
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is smooth and easy to build up with lots of shift. In indoor lights you’ll mostly see a blue/purple appearance with pink, gold, and green at extreme angles and in shaded lighting. The microflakes give a strong starry night appearance, and no texture after topcoat.
Able Sisters Styles – pink jelly polish filled with color shifting iridescent flakes, holo micro flakes and pink inner glow shimmers $10
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is dense and applies very opaque on the nail. I almost want to say this feels like a somewhat foiled look since the flakes and shimmer is very dense in it. This dries down a touch flat, so I’d suggest a good glossy topcoat.
Saturday’s with K.K. Slider – white polish loaded with color shifting shimmers from pink to purple $10
Swatches show three coats with topcoat. Formula applies crelly like with quite a bit of a squish factor. This is a touch on the sheer side, so if you have a prominent free edge I’d suggest a color correcting base coat. Overall the finished appearance reminds me of a pearl, with the shimmer easily shifting between pink and purple. It does dry down a touch flat, so again I’d recommend a glossy topcoat.
The Animal Crossing series one is currently available through Glisten & Glow’s shop, be sure to check out my swatch video to see these in action!
Thanks so much for reading! ❤
