PRESS SAMPLE: these were sent to me for an honest review
Hello lovely readers! Today I have new polishes from Baroness X to show you all. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen regular polishes from the Baroness herself, and I’m stocked to present these as they’re all blue and very pretty. We also have a new scent alert too, so let’s dive right in!
Witching Hour – a nearly black navy jelly with 2 shades of blue shimmer and microflakie with holo micro flakies and silver metallic sparks ($11)
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is rich and jelly like, but very dense and easy to build up. I’d suggest a good glossy topcoat to make the microflakes pop. The topcoat used in this post is Baroness X’s Liquid Crystal topcoat.
Empress of Balance – a medium blue jelly base with blue microflakies and holo, looks almost purple because of the shifting shimmer from violet/magenta/rose gold/gold/green/teal ($13.00)
Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Similar to the above, the formula on Empress is rich, jelly like and very quick to reach opacity. The base color is definitely a vibrant medium blue, but the shimmer overtakes everything. In indoor lighting it appears as a strong purple/pink glow with an easy shift over to green and gold at angles.
Amortentia – a dusty blue base with indigo to purple shifting iridescent flakies and shimmer with hot pink/rose gold/gold shifts. ($12)
Swatches show three coats with topcoat. The formula is jelly like and smooth, but on the lighter side. If you have a prominent free edge like myself, I’d suggest a color correcting base coat to cancel out your free edge. It wasn’t too noticeable in person, however in brighter lights I could see a smidge of my smile line. The shimmer is delightfully strong in person, though being a touch subtle in my swatches. It easily shifts between a hot pink and gold, especially in shaded lighting.
Acetone Antidote – Amortentia: blueberry ice and lavender
This new scent is the bomb, you guys. I get a perfect balance between blueberry and lavender with a cool scent. It’s not methol, but I can’t put my finger on exactly what is making it smell ‘cold’. It’s awesome though and I have confirmed with Demi that you can get this in other products too (this chick will be getting it in her next cuticle oil).
You can grab the trio in the follow packs:
- Full sized trio (15mL) with Acetone Antidote $36
- Full sized trio (15mL) without Acetone Antidote $34
- Mini trio (8mL) without acetone antidote $21
- individual polishes/acetone antidote
These will release September 19th at noon PST. Be sure to check out my swatch video to see these in action! Also, if you’re not already in the BX Facebook group, we’re having a giveaway for the trio and cuticle oil (in your choice of scent). All you have to do is join and answer in the giveaway thread! Woot! I’m an admin over there, and I’ll happily let you in. Good luck! 🙂
Thanks so much for reading! ❤
