Hello lovely readers! It’s been such a Monday. This morning was full of fail for my thesis experiment and then I was almost late picking my son up. I’m so glad it’s over and now I can do a little bit of fun and talk nail polish! Today’s post is all about magnetics. Live Love Polish recently dropped a lovely six piece set that are intended to be worn over their one coat cream, LBD.
LBD, the black cream in this post applies super opaque and very smooth. I’m wearing it as one coat underneath each of the magnetics. It self levels perfectly and dries down glossy.
To prevent myself from repetition on each of my comments, each swatch is shown with one coat magnetized over one coat of LBD, and the magnetized once more with Live Love Polish’s Glossy Topcoat. The magnetics performed very well, I had no issues with dispersal and the pigments show up so well against that black base. I was very impressed, and I’m not saying that just because this post is sponsored. My favorites were Futurity, Anomaly, and Millenia. I think if you’re new to magnetics, these are a great start as they were very easy to work with and the results were awesome.
I used the stick magnet from Live Love Polish, there’s a rectangular end that made the diagonal lines, and the other end is a circle that repels the magnetic pigments. I’ll throw a few shots of each with either the circle or the rectangle part used.
Lastly, if you’ve struggled with magnetic polish and find that they disperse after you topcoat, I didn’t have that issue. I magnetized the polish itself for roughly 30 seconds. Then I topcoated with their topcoat (which is very glossy) and magnetized for 15-20 seconds. While I was magnetizing the wet topcoat, I gently blew on my nail to speed up the process. You’ll want to do this with any magnetic polish so that the magnetic pigments are ‘sealed’ in when dried down.
