*PRESS SAMPLE: these were sent to me for an honest review*

Happy almost weekend lovely readers! Today I have Cupcake’s newest collection to show you all. These are inspired by Chess, and I’ll admit I barely play. My husband always decimates me and I get mad and we quit haha. Let’s take a peek at the swatches!

All polishes are shown with a glossy topcoat.

Checkmate – Rich black nail polish filled with small metallic silver and silver holographic flakies

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is creamy and smooth on application. I think two coats will be perfect for most.

King’s Gambit – Ivory crème base filled with red/orange/green/gold aurora shimmer and red/orange/green/gold flakies

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula has a strong squish factor and builds easily. This dries down like a flat crelly, so I’d suggest a good glossy topcoat.

Queening – Rusty red shimmer that shifts to blue, purple, pink, and orange in different lighting

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is crelly like with a soft squish factor. Depending on your preference, you may want a third coat.

Sicilian Defense – Pink crème nail polish filled with blue to green to orange shifting aurora shimmer

Swatches show three coats with topcoat. Fromula is creamy and somewhat crelly on application. Some may be able to get away with two coats, but I thought that third coat really helped plump it out and deepen the base color. This one is my top pick in the set ❤

Stalemate – Teal crème filled with pink/red/orange shifting iridescent flakies

Swatches show two coats with topcoat. Formula is creamy and smooth on application and builds easily.

Zugzwang – Periwinkle blue packed with red aurora shimmer and red iridescent flakies

Swatches show three coats with topcoat. Formula is jelly like with a squish factor and dries down very flat. I think three coats will make the base color pop the best. The shimmer is very strong and makes the base color lean somewhat blurple-y.

The Chess Collection releases February 12th at 7pm central time! You can grab them individually for $13 each. Be sure to check out my swatch video to see them in action!

Thanks so much for reading! ❤
